Happy Halloween! My brother sent us a little Halloween outfit for Leo, complete with a little pumpkin hat. Trick or treat?

Fall in San Francisco

Sunday, October 28th, 2007

I always look forward to autumn in San Francisco. The weather is perfect - really what summer should be if it weren’t for the pesky fog that keeps July cold and misty. But by September and October the fog is scarce, possibly bothering other coastal cities further up the coast. And here in the bay area we get these amazing warm, clear October mornings that I just cling to, trying to wring out the best of the passing year before it’s over. We’ve been taking family trips up to Chrissy Field on Saturday mornings, at the foot of the golden gate, so our puppy Uma can run in the water. It’s dog heaven up there - everyone’s got a dog and they’re all out for a walk on any given sunny morning. We just went yesterday, and had a great time watching Uma splash around. Daph carries Leo around like a kangaroo in our little ergo-baby carrier, and he is content to take in the scenery or crash out…

Closer to home, the afternoon family walk has become a weekend favorite. Last weekend we brought some wine & cheese and had a little picnic. Today we took the frisbee and played catch with Uma in an open grassy area where luckily there weren’t any people to scold us when we let her off leash.

We got a little “snap & go” stroller for Leo that we snap his carseat into. He enjoys the family walks too, looking around for a while and then eventually falling asleep as the stroll lulls him. His first autumn is passing by quickly - he’s almost 4 months old, and pretty smiley these days. Here’s a couple gratuitous baby pictures. ;-)
